Racist, separatist, fascist & very ugly! But we already knew that…

Donald Trump has only been in office for ten days, but has already made an obvious statement with his executive decisions. Since taking office, he has executed five orders; Border Security and Immigration Enforcement Improvements, Enhancing Public Safety in the Interior of the United States, Expediting Environmental Reviews and Approvals for High Priority Infrastructure Projects, and Minimizing the Economic Burden of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act Pending Repeal. The most recent order of his has mirrored something that has previously happened in America.

When World War II was occurring, America banned emigration of anyone of Jewish descent in fear that they could be the bad guys in disguise. The US (and other countries in the Western Hemisphere) could have saved thousands of Jews from the Nazis. They didn’t. At one point, the US literally turned away a ship of 900 German Jews. Shortly afterward, it rejected a proposal to allow 20,000 Jewish children to come to the US for safety. All because they feared that the people fleeing genocide and war torn countries could somehow be harmful. History is only repeating itself. But is Trump trying to “protect” America and its citizens? Or is there more to this?

Trump has made it blatantly clear who is not allowed in his idea of America. Anyone following Islam is seen as a threat. His executive order bars immigrants from seven countries; Iran, Iraq, Libya, Somalia, Sudan, Syria and Yemen for 120 days. Many refugees, immigrants and citizens returning from trips were either detained at the airports they were at or deported. These are people who want or need to be in America for their own safety. The Middle East is not the only place Trump is targeting.

Anyone holding a Green Card will be affected. White House Chief of Staff Reince Priebus has stated in a Meet the Press interview “Well, of course it does. If you’re traveling back and forth, you’re going to be subjected to further screening.” The Atlantic states “The order also targets individuals of those countries who hold dual citizenship with another country. For instance, an individual who holds both Iraqi and Canadian citizenships… It does not apply to individuals who hold U.S. citizenship along with citizenship of another country—though a CBP agent can presumably question such a person based on his or her discretion.”

But if you are doing business with Donald Trump, you have nothing to worry about.

In the countries banned, not a single American was killed on U.S. soil by citizens from any of those countries between 1975 and 2015, according to statistics tallied by the Cato Institute. But the countries that were left out are known as terrorist hotspots. Almost 3,000 Americans were killed by citizens from Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates and Egypt in the same time frame. What these countries also have in common is that they are still allowed for US visas and travel permits. Oh and Trump also holds a multi-million dollar licensing and development deals in all of those countries.

So is this ban about racism and not excepting other orders of faith? Absolutely. Anyone who is not a white, practicing Christian is a pariah. But it is also about how personal Donald Trump is taking his seat. Especially since he is attacking anyone who does not support him as well. And how it can all lead to another known period in history. One where a fascist ruler said anyone not like him, and who does not support him, should not exist.
